TRUPTI KAMAT

MBA  8011

SPRING 2002

After graduating from Manipal Institute Of Technology, India,  in June 1997 with a B.E. in Electrical & Electronics  I  joined  Bajaj Electricals Limited ( Luminaires division)  in Aug 1997.  Below is a brief summary of what I accomplished at BEL.

My experience at  Bajaj  gave me an insight into  the functioning of a Marketing    company and also helped me grow as an  individual.  I  also realized another

fact : running an  industry involves more than  just research , development and implementation of the latest technology. Managing its functioning is also equally important. This realization, strengthened my  desire to pursue an MBA as I believe that an MBA provides an ideal mix of practical and theoretical knowledge of various business aspects through a combination of courses and team-oriented projects.

Currently I am  a full time student at  Georgia State enrolled in the M.B.A. program.  One of my foremost expectations from this program is to develop the ability to understand the “big picture” by looking at various aspects  of a business. In  my future career endeavors, I want to look at a business from a much broader realm, encompassing Strategy, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and other aspects, rather than focusing on individual components.

After my MBA I am confident of securing a middle management position with a multinational firm in the US. The MBA, combined with my work experience in India and the US, will provide me with the theoretical as well as practical tools to secure a senior management position with one of the large multinationals in India - which is my ultimate goal. I am convinced that the experiences of this MBA program along with other acquired skills will go a long way in helping me create value for myself.  I also believe that these experiences will help me  develop and hone the skills necessary to compete in today’s fast-paced business environment and help me in successfully meeting  the challenges that I will encounter in my future career endeavors.  I further believe that these very skills will be of great benefit to my future employer/s as I bring a very diverse cultural aspect to the business world, which is rapidly turning more and more global by the day.
